I can't believe how busy I'm getting of late. Stock loft built, race loft almost complete. I've decided, with the approval of Mrs of course. To make a breeding loft at home. I'm going to to bring all geriatrics home and build a breeding loft in my workshop at home. All mod cons. Electric, heating in a brick building. Maybe it will be their last season, so why not spoil them. Now's the time to get all the paper pedigrees into our new database, mind numbing stuff. Won't be long before were pairing up.

Were pairing up early this year as we've got a good few youngsters on order. They should be keen as mustard as they wasn't bred off last year. But we intend flying three clubs next year so we want a fairly large team, because we are starting from scratch again and don't have an O/B Team as such. Were going to pair up in November, so they should be just right for the 2012 rings. I don't bother with darkness, I tried it once. Ok we did win a fair few races. but it was the first season we had YBS and the birds performed poorly as yearlings. So I stick to the light system. Yes mate the lofts are on an allotment. But after the race loft is finished, I'm building a breeding loft at home, for all our golden oldies, so they can have a little bit luxury before going into retirement loft, which is next on our agenda.

Cheers mate. It's started to get a little chilly now mate. We actually put up shutters on the stock loft last night. The next job on my agenda is a stock loft at my home in my workshop. This should house a good few pairs. It has heating and electric and an extractor fan. So hopefully I can keep the room at a steady temperature. I'm too kind. Lol.

think November is too early Gary for 2012 rings it was ok at one time when rings were issued on 1st jan unless there have been changes i think they are not issued untill 8th jan this was to make sure they were hatched in january i'm just comming back so other members may disagree with me but they will know best

thing is some pairs lay after 10 days 18 days til hatch and have rung some ybs at 6 days so theres 34 days and rings will not be dispatched to individual members until dec 29th and club rings will be dispatched on or after 23rd dec and right on christmas well you can imagine especialy with some bad weather thrown in the earliest you could exspect to receive any rings is 28th december jmo atb

rpra must have a change of policy as they said rings will be despatched last working day before christmas which is the 23rd so could have them on 28th that means we are back to YB born in the previous year

would say other countries get their rings very early and there is nothing stopping you buying them, ringing your ybs and transfering them so some people in this country are breeding very early

to my mind if you have to export rings for ybs then its a bit extreme and you are nearly racing yearlings not realy fair on everybody else is it

I've never had a ring any earlier than News years day. But just to cover yourself, join two different Unions.
