Another busy week working on the loft. But were well happy with the results. Would have liked it finished today. But the stock loft birds were telling us it was getting a little cold at night, in the new open fronted loft. So we decided to make some sliding shutters, which set us back half a day. But the stock cocks are happy again. [img] [/img] Cock section 2 nearly finished Cock section 1 finished A little more work needed on the trapping enclosure. [img] [/img] Two sliding plexiglass shutters, with shelf above. [img] [/img] Sliding doors done, tracks made from anodised ali U Sections £5.40 from Wicks. outer panels need fixing on. Doors made from Correx, making them ultra light with a smooth operation. Am looking forward to the finished result.

As nutty as a fruitcake mate. LOL but that's another story. Good loft management, make your hobby support itself. Otherwise in five years you'll be filing for bankruptcy. It's only a 12 volt lighting system, but enough to power the lofts for free.

A little extra light, helps them become active a bit longer, plus they can come down for food and drink throughout the night. Rather than waiting nearly 10 or 11 hours. I think it makes a hell of a lot of difference.

I use it right through until breeding has stopped. It doesn't have to a bright light. I usually use small strip lights with diffusers on them, like the ones you see over the mirrors in hotels.

Ivlasked wind is free but it is the same as solor energy you can place small solar panels on your loft to make electricity from the sun just the same mate If you need info have a look a solor energy gain mate just the same as having at your home but on a smaller scale does not have to big large in size All the best mate |

Solar ones are ok, we bought some of those globe ones from Blackpool the other year, they were a set of four. I thought they would have been better considering the price. But we need to run 6 units. So a bank of batteries on constant trickle should hopefully do the trick. I always do my homework mate
