Hi Mate, welcome, if you are toatally new to birds then I would say, if the birds are together the cocks will fan out thier tails and wings chaising the hens. Cocks are generally bigger and more robust looking than hens but not always. some people use magnets if unsure I dont but im told it works, hold a magnet on a string above the birds head swing it back and forth, if it continues that way its a cock, but if it goes in a circular motion its a hen...I dont use this and I think thats right unless its the other way round. Just find 1 definate cock first and see what it does, then the other way is a hen. Hope this helps a bit Im sure others will help you if you are getting birds from them, tell them to sex them for you. Very Happy

Very Happy Yes mate that sounds about right, cocks do tend to fight, then the hens keep away. But you can have timid cocks also. when they settle in a couple of days you will see the cocks chaising the hens.

Very Happy I would seperate your birds for a few months, and If you intend racing next year then pair them up in Febuary around 14th will be a nice average time for this, most of us pair much earlier but thats for old bird racing commitments which dont bother you at the momment.
