| after buying birds...how long would you keep them in,before letting them out for a fly about. are we talking months..or wks. only talking about fantails,and a couple of young muff rollers.

| hi b/lady, i dont keep any fantails but by what ive heard they are quite easy to settle as they dont tend to go far from the loft............did you get them from a local fancier ? if so it should be easy to settle them as if they go back you will be able to collect them, if they are local i would think to keep them in for approx2 - 3 weeks them give them a try. also would settle easier if paired up/sitting. |

| i think you should have no problems settling them, the fantails seem to fly differetly than the racers, they tend to hover in a small area around the loft rather than go any great distance away.............how did you section your loft off.....? what did you decide on ? |

| so far i have split it into two 6ft x 8ft sections..1 of those sections i have to finish of spliting into two 4ft x 6ft...i am going to put sliding doors on those sections. i can use 1 for putting any young birds that i breed into next yr. |
