I had hawk trouble 3 years on the spin, last year was the first time with the beacon, and never had any trouble, so yes I do think it helps

fred hi fred, ive been troubled by hawks over the last couple of years and have seen quite a few theories for keeping the pigeons safe.....as you have yourself the beacon, an imitation owl and also c.d.s, hanging from the surrounding trees etc which blow in the wind and dazle the hawk....have also heard a few more remadies. have you tried any of these other methods before you decided the flashing beacon was best ? Hi David, I haven't tried any other remedy, just the beacon, because I read somewhere it was good, I don't think its the b all and end all, but it certainly helps, I'm still vigilant when I let the youngsters out, at first, and I try not to leave birds out walking about the garden regards Fred |

Fred hi fred, ive been troubled by hawks in the past but only had one that i know of taken and killed.....iwas planning on hanging cds from the trees which surround my loft to give at least a bit of protection. i also do not let my birds walk around the garden very often.......mostly as soon as they land i call them in as this lessens the chance of attack, plus it also creates a routine so they know to come straight into the loft which can only be a good thing i would emagine for race days.... |

| its been a nightmare sometimes don, either watching out for hawks or cats........i think ive sorted the cat problem more or less but i dont think you can ever sort the hawk problem permanantly/totally........you never know where or when they are going to attack, they are so fast youve no chance. |
