pinkish spots around the eye.

anyone know if this is anything to be concerned about.noticed a few spots around the eye.it also has a dirty wattle not greasy or any discharge.no rattling or spots in the throat.breathing is a bit rapid when handling but that could be down to the pigeon being quite nervious.looks fine on a perch eats and drinks poops perfect.[img][/img][img][/img]

hi j/gen, is this a bird youve just brought into your loft...? personally i wouldnt sqay its anything to worry about as sometimes they do get the wttles a bit mucky for different reasons. its the spots on the eyes which i would watch.........or has it been fighting ?

Sure David has got this right about the fighting normally if you run your fingers along the keel you should be able to detect if a bird is ill but not showing any signs of being sick

a dirty wattle is normally a sign of respiritory problems,but best get the advice off someone who knows about these things.i,m just going off the past when i had it

is the wattle just dirty or brown and greasy.....? looking at your photos it doesnt apear greasy to me..........

sometimes they can be sh*t on by a bird on the perches above and it often discolours the wattle for a day or so, JMO

the spots have got a very small hard tip on them.i was thinking maybe fighting but not sure.maybe just leave it see what happens.i too was thinking more respiritory with a dirty wattle.only this bird is in this condition.30 odd other are all fine.ive put it in a pen and gave it a dose of ornicure for respiritory see what happens.could be nothing but just thought someone could pinpoint whats going on with the eye.

have you just paired him up sometimes they get dirt on there wattles by nebbing in the nest bowl maybe the marks are off the hen , but i honestly dont think theres anything to worry about

its been in a pen for 2 days now and on checking it tonight when i came home from work its got canker.hope sorting it for canker is all it has.

sorry to hear this l/g, is it a new bird youve brought in...?

The pigeon may have don't itself because when the pigeon uses its foot the claw may have catched its eye area
