I had my first race today raced 4 late breeds came 10th we raced from blandford dorset 92 miles 490yds took 2hour, 50 seconds vel 1344. in a NNE wind

Apart from the weather it was a good race 4 us good returns I was 1 short but winning 2nd club with a 2yearold And 3rd pools with another latebred. Was a bonus

well out the 4 birds i sent i only got two back and they where the birds i got late august these birds where trained very well the other 2 birids didnt get so much training so thats why i probly lost them
im now down to 2 cocks to race after the hawks and perigrines had some ealy in the year and the 2 that i lost saturday
But twos better than none
Hopefully ill have a good young bird team as ill have about 100 so i should have a few yearling cocks for next year

hi evs, glad to hear your staying positive........its all experience for you racing the few old birds you have.

im sure you will have a better season with the ybs, and will have gained valuable knowleage/experience from racing the old birds.......

thats the wise thing to do eves take ya time them late breds will be ok if nursed along and they get some sun on there backs i think they did well saturday for late breds as i say give um a fair chance you be ok
