we had a site syndicate a couple of years ago steve, in the somerset one loft race..........the member mark brown bred the 4 ybs we entered but in my opinion the one loft race we entered was a disaster.

i think we had about 12 members in it.

steve i have one at the rpra loft i was advise to have my bird in at the very start glad i did with 1200 ybs it had time to settle in . next year i would only send hens if they were to stay for the yearling races i don't think a unpaired cock will race to the perch i also think you need out and out sprinters for the first few races the saying horses for courses does apply here i think when the birds come up for sale after the racing i will see if i can afford to buy a pair BERT BRASPENNING bhw recommended this for anyone racing this way and i can now see his point george

next bird was 90th -63rd then 2nd this week
if i have this right could someone look at http//you.be/vrgs5g85bk and tell me what the shadow of the bird flying over is it just before the birds are liberated george

Yes I enterd the Somerset one Loft to its the only race where the birds are tested east to west is the hardest route you can go you cet some stinkers of races sometimes but it good to test your birds from the stock birds its the old saying if your not in it you cant win it

yes david first bird took 10 days can't see what bearing this has on stock birds i'm now not sure what i'll do next year i will look at them all more closely as i'm now thinking 1200 birds racing from what 60mls to the same loft has to be luck as the rpra loft is not far from me i will be there for the ybs and will see for myself what the set up is george

George you say they had a bad race last year yes they did but unfortunatle every one gets a bad race and they are the ones that are rememdered nobody thinks of the good races its a case of it should be, every now again a bad one pops up and their is hell to pay, like why were they put up in that waether, but if they not up you get why arn`t they up some would have made it, the convoyers cant win either way

With pigeon racing, as only too well we should know at our age. There is no such thing as a sure thing. It's like owt else, you pay yer money, an ya take yer chance.

maybe so ginger what i was trying to say these one loft races are not the places to decide how good or bad a stock pair are you also have a race which was a disaster and they did not seem to have any explanation if i had had a bird i would be asking a few more questions and the first one would be did they pick up any drinking water on route or at the site to me if they did go the wrong way i'm sure some of the birds would have turned round my theory is for whatever reason all the birds went down and most stayed down good luck hope you do well this year is the somerset the only loft you are in this year i'm looking at the irish one for next year george
