| IAN,as secretary of our club it is my job to collect the vac sheets in and pass them on to the fed secretary. every year i have trouble getting them passed on to me from my members. all our members birds are vaccinated by one designated person in our club. should be no problem you would think. NO. think again i know for a fact that they have been done. YET on the last day i had to chase round collecting them from 15 of the 21 lofts in our club.
the mind boggles why they do this. some of the excuses are amazing |

| yes same at out club mate all birds have to be done by an official this ensures that all club members have been done but some clubs dont do this they leave it to the club members themselves but do they all vaccinate ,i wonder , but i know where your coming from with getting the sheets in some members have to be led by the hand lol |

| we will do the lot, stock birds as well, but it takes some organising, as we will also do birds belonging to other fanciers, but it ends up a whole day of a job. |

| thats what i,m saying sean, mine are covered when i done my old birds twice ,the thing is it was rife in the north east like every where else but some chose not to do theirs,i cannot see why myself but if thats what they want to do fair enough, but believe me it will take its toll on their birds,i,ve been there and i,m not going back to that again..it has cost me a fortune to put ours right but its been worth it .i think we have done ok in the last few years since sorting it out and we,ll not get it again ..these people should hold their hands up and amit if they have problems and we can all help each other, which is beneficial to us all |

| If you do it, you do it, if you don't you don't. I know it's a DEFRA requirement, but there is no enforcement, hence no punishment if this is not done. Another thing is, how many fanciers actually report outbreaks to DEFRA like they are supposed to do? If every bird was vaccinated like they supposed to be then there would be no outbreaks. I reckon all clubs should have vaccination days where the club buys all the vaccines and they are jabbed in the clubhouse by a nominated person and you pay per bird jabbed.. This way nobody escapes and all paperwork is is done by the club. Preston's Westside is the only club I've ever known to adopt this policy. Maybe this should also be a requirement.

yes gaz totally agree should be done through the club can only be a positive move this way you only pay for what birds you have , how many fanciers have vaccine left that goes to waste every year , and gaz it is a combine requirment you have to vaccinate your race team otherwise you dont race |

| i dont know what everyone else does re vaccinating, but im my own experience ive found its very easy to "cheat" the system if you want to, and say they have been done when they havnt, enough said, i dont want to say too much. |
