Thanks Guys, we are well pleased with the birds 3 hotspots and 3 top ten positions, just missing out on the money every time the story of my life , lol. one more hurdle to negotiate in Hotspot 4 then the final in early September from Ypes in Belgium 265 miles, that is the one we want to win, things are going to plan so far.
750 birds went today and 277 were home in the result online so a lot of birds were late or missing, we had 3 birds away as we have 9 home.

Well done guys best of luck, we have discussing getting a site syndicate together, but thought we would leave until after the yb season.
Have been giving it some serious thought myself though.

Do you get a discount Kev for entering more birds, I would be really interested in finding all the the ins and out for next year.

This year Gaz it was £405 for 4 birds and you could send as many reserve as you like and they would take the place of the other birds if they were lost but be a bit carefull if whats left buy the first hotspot they need to to be actevated or they cant win anything if you leave it later it goes up by £25 each hotspot you can find it on the somerset one loft race sight I find it a bit of fun expensive to start but once you have spent the money it give some injoyment though the raceing season its hard but test your birds

Thanks for that Ginger, we touched on the subject a while ago on chat and thought maybe if there was enough of us interested then we could maybe send to two different OLR which again could increase our chances.
We thought it would be a good experience for us all the site to work together as a sort of joint venture. Even non flying members could participate and maybe have a bird bred for them by a willing flying site member.
We thought it would be a great idea Darren and it certainly be a good way to get our birds tested and have a bit of fun along the way.

The site had a go a few years back Gaz the pigeons were supplyed by Mark Brown

Yes Don I have told about it.
It will take some organising, but we will all breed our own bird unless its a non fancier. But I think there would be many that would be only to happy to breed a bird for them to enter.
If we can organise it I think it would be a good thing mate.

Hi Gaz the rules for the Somerset allow you to enter 8 birds activated and 6 reserves for 800 quid and then if you still have more than 8 left by race 1 its 100 quid per bird to activate them before Hotspot 1, and 10 quid per bird to put them in the gold ring event that covers all the Hotspots winner take all each race which in this years event is 1000 quid due to lots of birds in the gold ring.

Also after the final if you want your birds back you may have them free of charge except you pay carriage or you have the option to auction the birds and split 50/50 any money recieved with the race organisers. Kev
