cant understand mate ours were desperate for a drink when they arrived, 1 of my best friends is the fed convoyer and he only has the birds best intrest at heart and he says that the birds drank on saturday. but we all know that they all abviously cant get a drink |

| I think the heat must have played a huge part, not only the temperature outside, but the temperature inside the panniers. You only have to put your hands above one when the birds have been inside one for an hour. your right not every bird gets to the drinker. My mate had two reported last week that had gone down into lofts in close proximity to the lib point. In fact he had them reported a good hour and a half before he clocked. One of the birds was reported to have been severely dehydrated. After a drink and a feed he released the bird the following day and he arrived home safely flying over a hundred miles. I think it pays dividends to remove your drinker from your birds on the day of basketting just before you feed um and leave um a good hour and a half without a drink after they have fed, then return the drinker with glucose added to ensure they get a good drink and the glucose will perhaps help them from becoming dehydrated. Just a thought guys.

Gaz your correct about the heat fanciers don't realise plus the youngsters are racing when the so called summer weather is at its so called best heatwave time Lets put it this way an avarage transporter carries lets say 5,000 pigeons if you were to have a loft of the same size with this amount of pigeons in it i wonder what other fanciers and your neighbours would have to say |
