| yes i agree g also the birds seem alot smaller than they were in the 70's early 80's maybe it was just the strains my grandfather used to have but you certainly could tell a cockbird when you saw one |

| a few years ago i asked jack barkel if certain eyesign pairings would alter the shape/dynamics of a pigeon, he said that over a period of time yes it would........
just thought i`d throw that in to the discussion, food for thought maybe ? |

| Tottaly agree birds are smaller, Im even breeding smaller pigeons, but not by design they just seem smaller. You look at the older breeds that are not really about any more like Dordin and delbar they could be really big birds. My hermans ceusters, koopman and some janssens are really quite small and hen like cocks, My best pigeon last year a chequer from my red hen who has won well for me is tiny I called the red hen the flying flee but her youngster last year is even smaller, and the sire was average size.?? |

Totally agree Seanl, birds have got smaller when compared to the Van Den Bosch, Busscharts, they were bigger pigeons compared to todays birds. |

Spot on Seanl as i said in the last post the birds were power houses in the 80's all front and today they are getting smaller The only birds which have stayed the same are the Janssen birds JMO When you comment about then was talking to a good freind of mine and a good pigeon man and he commented on the how the pigeons seam to be getting shorter As "I KNOW NOTHING" can anyone cast a light on the way the would say a bird is shorter ??? Cheers Don |
