| Were the hens are concerned as look as you keep them a little bit hungary not much, i kept the hens in a section on there own with v perches which was darkened.
Thursday night would give them abig feed and place them in boxes and feed them a good feed friday afternoon when you place the hens in with the cock they will play there part no worries at all |

| if the hens are not too interested in the cock do you think it will have an effect on how the cock races, or not that much...? |

| Do you think one must take care in the widowhood hen loft, that the hens dont mate? I've been reading, that it could be a problem sometimes. |

| niel, we were always fighting against the hens pairing up with each other ,it was a constant battle... i think the best thing to do is dont make it easy for them to do it, and nowhere to nest in eg floor covering, sand. straw.....we had roofing lats accross the loft which stopped them being comfortable....and also kept them a bit light on the feed of barley. |

| if you intend to fly widowhood you must seperate the hens to keep them fresh for cocks |

| we kept them in the same loft loose....but some fanciers keep them in seperate boxes niel to make sure they do not pair to each other, so they are eager to be with the cock when put togeather.....its like you niel, if you havnt seen the wife for a week youll be raring to go...... |

| I would be a bad cock, all the young guns would have one dad, jumping all the hens, if the other cocks dont look |

| Niel put the hens in a loft which has poles for them to sit on and a covering over the floor which stops them from landing on the floor |
