Airport...........

I have found out today that some local flyers are under threat.
A year or so ago they extended Southend airport, at the time people were told there wouldn't be to much difference in traffic, Flights cant start before 6 in the morning and other restrictions apply.
I heard this lunchtime that 1 flyer next to the end of the airport runway has received a letter saying he must not have his pigeons out after 6 in the morning, 1 or 2 on their way home from a race would not be a problem but NO FLOCKS should be flying after 6.
Despite protests they are sticking to it, the fancier is distraught as we all would be as he has kept pigeons there since 1953.
Now there is a rumour that this is the start and that once located all lofts within a 2 mile radius of the airport will get the same letter, that would be 5 fanciers that I can think of off the top of my head, I can understand why but this should have been mentioned when they requested to extend the airport in the 1st place.

feel sorry for the chaps steve but as you know we are working people them in power always win and where more money is concerned we come second again

They will always tell u what you want to hear but that rule about 2 miles from airport has been going for years

have found out last night that the 2 mile rule could affect 6 fanciers. 2 of which werent in range till they extended the airport
