after about 5- 6 days check eggs by holding them to light you,ll be to see if they are fertilised or fresh you should see the red veins in them if you dont take out and let them lay again otherwise you coud be waiting 18 days for nothing,

Your a bit late with your reply Ian. I ended up with a hard boiled egg. My soilders crumpled on contact. lol! lol! lol! .

I have a question thou. Dos anyone know of anything i can give to a old hen. As i think poor Hilda may need a bit of help. We are placing her in a end with just her and a cock. What ever i get out of her will be a bonus. So any help you can give me will be very much appreciated.
