thurso is the penultimate race point for lerwick ....most fanciers send to fraserburgh as a prep race or Berwick which is much further east on a line than thurso ...our birds and welsh birds would probably hit land at thurso in an ideal world but east coast flyers could be a different ball game and of course the nrcc pigeons are predominately lincs and east coast and London pigeons so the drag would take um more easterly jmo mind you atb

just depends where the wind is from if its from the east then yes it could be thurso or wick , if its blowing from or north west then it could take them right down the coast line as far as hull . i flew lerwick back in the early 90s in to west york it was a blow home ne wind my took just over 8hrs for 450 miles and i was near the bottom of the sheet it was one of the quickest lerwick races they had known .
