| Hi David
If you are going to put vents in the room use some 150mm / 6 inch plastic pipe cut a hole in the room to allow the plastic pipe to cover the pipe use a chinese hat or what you see on top of the ducting outside of a chip or chinese shop the same type of thing and that should do
The same system was used by Barry Nichollas in simply the best 7 |

| when my friend ken(friendslofts) came to my house he advised me i needed some more ventilation on the front of my loft as i dont have any at the moment only some dowelling on the door and a gap at the front and back at the roof level...he explained about how it would circulate round better if i had thes at the front.... |

| David
Fit some plactic vents which you can open and close from the outside of the loft this will help with the movement of air in the loft, but for me i would close the windows so that the only place the air can enter the loft is through the vents |

| But if you can close the windows then that would help the situation |

| i thinking that once ive built my avairy on my stock shed i might be able to remove the perspex and just have the dowelling that ive had to cover up....so therefor letting more fresh air and circulation into it, plus with the aviary on the front it means cats wont be able to get to it... |

yes david,i agree with ian on this.you want a roof on it to keep the rain from getting in and making the droppings wet.also have you thought of having a solid side at one end to maybe put v perches on? |

| One get 2 types of pigeons, followers and leaders, although followers could win races, they gradually get lost. After they reach a point that they recocnize the area they could urge home to win a race, most of the time followers get lost during a mass racing toss as they could follow the wrong pigeons. |

| To see pigeons flying around a loft is different from racing the best way to get the birds to get race fit is to
1 hour round the loft then get in the loft place in a basket take 40 miles toss in sets of three by doing this you make them work there brain, fly home a little faster for there food
By doing this you get them race fit faster but try and get the balance correct as you don't want the pigeons starving you just want them hungary si this puts a little edge on them |

| To get a good homing ability you need to toss the birds single or twos its all about getting them to use there brains and become leading pigeons and not the ones which follow the leaders |
