we all know yeast causes fungus and mould but ide say 90% in a loft is damp and por air circulation same as in a house where air dosent circulate you get mould thats why you should never put a wardrobe etc on and outside wall or a bed next to an outside wall they draw in damp and cause mould as i said many reasons for mould

too much moisture in the loft ....I been in some lofts where the mould is on the droppings a lot sooner than others ,yes of course droppings will go mouldy eventually in any loft due to the reasons stated

I wont lie I use to get fungus/mould on my birds dropping in a day or 2 now since I done the loft improvements it takes a lot longer to see mould so I think I have improved the loft a little bit but I scrape out every day or every other day

have not cleaned out for months droppings just dry up and fall off the perches there is a pile high of droppings on the floor from the perches I do have easybed down, at the back is a 2ft x 2ft opening for the birds to go into the aviary 7/24 and from early morning until dark there is a wire door at the front the reason I'm sticking with this I have never had pigeons look so well even when I done the shows will clear the floor this coming week and put down some fresh easybed I think whatever suits you and your birds stick with it
