ian, you had a gut feeling about yesterdays 2nd place winner didnt you....and look how well he did. Very Happy stick with your gut feelings and it may just race or breed well for you, its worth a try.
how old is it ian ? if its well settled to your loft is there a chance of racing it this year ? Smile

If i can give my humble opinion, i would say , breed with your top birds, only breed with the GB pigeon, as an experiment , testing it offspring first before continue breeding.

isnt that the case with every pigeon if they dont breed any winners you dont breed of them again

Yes , maybe , if you consider chances of breeding good pigeons, there is always a question mark on the stray pigeon's head.

you never know ian, a lot of fanciers spend a lot of money buying good proven stock birds, and lets face it good pigeons do get lost, its not just the crap that do.....no harm done if you bred a pair off it next year and race them is there ? obviously you dont breed of those unless they win though..... flower

ian you are right there, winners dont necessarily breed winners and just because pigeons dont win races it doesnt mean they cant breed a winner. although i mostly base my pairings on best to best. sunny
