I'm quite sure some here have seen my thoughts etc on our new super doopper  lol!  lol! new transporter as such here, which has a fan Wink Wink. As such, I'm looking for advise, as what is normal for the crates some here may use when loading onto your trucks on race day. Occupational health & safety is a big issue here & the builder Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes in his wisdom "The p*ss pot" Smile Smile has delivered us 100 odd crates to use with no handles to carry them type of thing when loading. So my question is, what is normal when you blokes have too load your birds there & also the new big thing bounce bounce which is going to solve all our water type issues with the birds drinking is, Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad sponges in all water troughs etc. So once again I ask Wink Wink what is normal come race day for you blokes here  Smile  Smile. cheers

morning knackered....our crates have no handles, we just grab it where we can on the side, 2 people carrying it.

as for water, we have troughs on the baskets while basketing, then they are removed before placed on the transporter, as for watering before the race or during a hold over ive no idea, I presume it will be troughs again as the vehicle is no fancy thing with central corridors for access.......

Got to have handles. They are bloody heavy things to lift especially if 20 0lus birds in.also it's easier to drop them without handles .I for one wouldn't like to take that chance on basketing day

Well if that many are going in questions do need answering. We have 25 bird limits on our baskets but we try to keep it to about 22 to make the birds more comfortable on their long journey ahead.especially when they are travelling and in baskets 12 hours or longer

Some of us are fighting for that type of thing Ray Wink Wink here but the chook farmers  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes don't want a bar of it sadly. Now Wink Wink sitting here I've just thought of a few more questions that need to be added to my list lol! lol!. Might just take up canary's for a bit less stress Wink Wink. cheers

When I bought my A-4 list of issues out last at our meeting here Mark Smile Smile  & spoke about the birds per crate issue, I felt I was one another planet with my concerns & then when I got down to the sponge issue Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes & said my piece lol! lol! lol! one old fellow asleep in the corner Wink Wink "ex pom" spang to attention lol! lol! & said Your talking sense with your concerns etc & then fell asleep again till the meeting finished. Our wizard secretary then thou, told me not to worry, we will just replace them all each week type of thing & I just didn't have the heart to ask by whom & at what cost type of thing & then the final cruncher was bounce bounce we have all been ask to bring each week with our entry form a local news paper Smile Smile to place in the bottom of the crates. cheers
