In my opinion - Eye Sign is a load of nonsense. The FOOT theory is the one that matters - The First Foot though the Trap!

I await the barrage of replies.

I dont know much about the eye sign. But also think how can you read anything from a pigeons eye when all colours win races

for racing I don't think its something which can tell you a bird is a winner or good racer, but maybe it might be able to be used for breeding if a fancier keeps a breed of pigeons he can say a certain type of eye breeds good racers....

ive seen fantails with fantastic eyes, but as we all know a fantail wouldn't come back from a few mile trainer....as it doesn't have the same homing instinct as a racing pigeon.

If you have 5 minutes to spare Ray bounce bounce I should be able to fill you in etc Wink Wink . We will always have those that can see what others carn't see etc in the eye I suspect. Where they tend to fall down from my perspective is, they make it the be all of everything that a pigeon has to offer & I consider that crazy type stuff. cheers

I don't think there is any other hobby/sport involving animals/birds that judge performance by evaluating the eyes........I wonder why they assume pigeons are any different.

Sorry Ray Wink Wink we do at times tend to waffle on Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes here etc bounce bounce but please remember Smile Smile 64 was one cracker of a year, for some Smile Smile. Now, back on topic XX Smile Smile only a fool I would suggest would disregard the eye completely of a pigeon & anyone who has seen an optometrist or one of a similar field/expertise would know where I'm coming from Wink Wink. cheers

That's just you Ray lol! lol! lol! find another optometrist Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes etc & one that races pigeons & is into eye sign, in a big big way. Waffle out of the way bounce bounce & I would suspect Ray you would agree the eye is a magical piece of machinary in it's own way & I would much prefer to loose an arm or a leg, if I had too, than loose my eye sight as such. cheers

I seen a specialist at hospital yesterday, she looked into my eyes with some sort od device with a light on.....she wasn't looking at my eye its self, something behind my eyes......... Suspect Suspect scratch study

but this isn't the same as eye sign in pigeons, pigeon eyes are studied on what you see in the eye its self.... study

My wife and I did out yearly visit to the optometrist few days ago. Asked her about pigeons eye sign. She lives in a hot bed of pigeon fliers. She said a person who knows what they are looking for could probably determine the health of the bird. Apart from that, she was skeptical about the benefits or signs.

Spot on I would say David Smile Smile Pigeon flyers thou Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes love to make things more complicated than what is really required etc I've found. I suspect with a pigeons eye, it's an intelligence thing Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes ??? for many that tend too like to waffle on about a pigeons eye as such, at least in their eyes from my point of view. cheers
