There's a lot of theories edgie, throat, eyes , wings, over the next couple of years I'll see how they go on the road, and keep the families that do the business for me

I think the best way to judge them is on either racing performance or breeding performance......that way it may stop you getting too over crowded.....(like me...lol)

yes edgie, I cant understand why people buy pigeons with no proven track record, ie racing performance or if they have bred winners....they seem to pay too much attention to pedigrees and what the grandparents etc have done, generations ago.

one of my best breeders was one I bought when a local fancier was packing in.....I liked the look of him, picked him up and handled him and liked him......gave the man £20 for him and he has bred countless breeder buyer pigeons year after year, and also pigeons to score well racing.

Best way to buy birds is keep your hands in your pockets unless you are starting from scratch Amen to that Caramel - I started from nothing this year and spent a good amount of money (at least a lot for me) on new stock birds. I have tested as many as I could in the basket, lost a few, got rid of a couple and have 20 left. Some will not go on to race much, but may be kept to float eggs under. My main problem is - it looks like we are going to move house before the 2017 season starts. Phil |
