I think the table idea is a very good one. A lot of my friends in Holland and Belg have them and as Edgie says - the birds like to play on them and use them almost as a staging post.
Personally, I have two sizes of landing board - one is 29 inches wide by 24 inches deep - this one I use for everyday trapping. It allows more birds to be in front of the trap.
The other one is 29 wide by 16.5 inches deep and I use it only for the birds on return from a training toss and will use it next year for races. My theory is, there is plenty room on the smaller landing board for two or three birds but not enough room for them to start messing about.
I would really like to have a table as well but, with the system I have at the moment, there is no room, because my young bird loft is off the ground by just over 2 feet, and in front of that I have some decking and the walkway to that loft.
When I design and put together the proper racing loft, which is still only ideas in my head, I will make sure there is the facility to have a table and a landing board.
