I know its a little early yet but when pairing up birds , what do you use as a guide ? , best to best - pedigree to pedigree - strain to strain -type to type -distance to distance - sprinter to sprinter eye to eye , or some other method ? or do you like to experiment ?

All those that said 'Best to Best' are right in my book.

However, what about young birds of this year that have NOT had time to show themselves?  Do you breed from them or not?
