| just wondered what precautions members take with new arrivals young or old but more so ybs do you treat them for anything do they get isolated before going in with the team what do you do...when we get new ybs they go into their own section for a week and put on natural supplements and monitored also they are on a deep litter from season before to adapt to my lofts bacterias no treatments are given though just vaccination day after arrival |

| I never take ybs in Darren, I havnt for quite a few years since we did the forum young bird exchange....I did buy 24 ybs in the 2015 season though, but they all came from the same loft so I just put them all in an empty section and treated for worms, canker etc...
I would never put any new bird, young or old straight in with my own birds... |

| yes that's right edgie, it was a couple of years ago I had a pigeon come back from racing , after being away for a few weeks.....I let it in with my others thinking it would be ok, and I paid the price, it took weeks of treatments and work to get my birds right, and only through the help and dedication of Darren/oldstrain they eventually came right again. so yes edgie, you are quite right, lesson learnt... |
