Getting these calling in the street regular now, it's taken over a year to get them out of the high trees around here but they're getting more confident now. Just hope the hawk leaves them alone.

Some type of parrot or parakeet David, nobody believed me when I first saw them 18 months ago. There was 3 then but only this pair now. They're very timid and up and away if you get too close.

I like them, I wonder how they came to be around, could it be someone has released them into the wild...?

PostSubject: Re: New birds visiting   New birds visiting EmptyMon Oct 31, 2016 10:44 am

David I think they've got to have either escaped or been released a good while ago, maybe it was their YB when I first saw them as a group of 3?
They come shrieking over our house just before dusk but this is the first time they've come and fed so close mid-afternoon. They know what a bird table is so I think they're feeding off a table elsewhere. Just hope they get left alone, I'll think about putting a nest box up in the higher trees back of us presuming they nest in holes or boxes?
Just glad I got a photo, only me and my wife have seen them before, don't think the neighbours believed us!
