hi chris, good to hear your getting back into racing...how about the 10ft loft being in 2 , 5 x 8 sections as you have a door for each section already, is the 8 x 4 for 2017 young birds...?

Was toying with the idea of the small shed as a young bird shed, the big shed with a two ft door is the entrance to the shed it self, corridor or not to corridor, ???

I would have big shed for old birds 2 sections ...small shed for 20 ybs I would have 2 sections for old bird shed one 7ft section with boxes for breeding and one 3 ft with v-perches for hens when separated ...but have both sections open when paired ...no more than 12 pairs if birds are flying out less if prisoner stock ...that's what I would do anyway ....atb chris

If my shed was 8ft wide I'd definitely have a corridor , then go with what oldstrain has suggested

if you have a corridor chris then i would probably go for 9 pairs of old birds and 12 pair without the corridor ...overcrowding is the worst thing to do whatever you decide upon atb

The young bird shed is ok, don't know what to do with inside of the big shed.
Bearing in mind I will be flying natural and keeping some stock.

Option 1 , have one section and build another shed for stock birds.

Option 2, have a 4 foot wide by 8 foot back for stock and let them use the flight,
And use the rest of the shed for flying birds, giving me an 6 foot wide by 8 foot back section flying to the open door.

build something separate for stock chris or even build new for ybs i would have a large flight too connecting your 2 lofts and covering the whole area outside the lofts theirs wasted space their m8 and put a didvider in the flight ...the mrs fish pond would be ideal to put a yb loft on lol!

make a flight all the way from old bird loft up to end of yb flight you could winter your hens in their and trap to the flight to on both lofts then when old birds are flying the stock can be locked away in the loft and the ones flying out can trap back into flight you could have a 2nd trap inside the flight leading to the loft ...don't get bogged down with too many stock chris jmo atb m8

Decided to use the main shed for flying, the young bird as it is, and build another 8 x 4 shed for the birds Mark gave me and stock them, won't need to have it ready till next year as the old birds I have ,14 in total are not broke in and too old to break. Reckon they can live out there days in an 8 x 4 shed with a flight on it as long as they fill there eggs .
