I'm waiting to see the feed back on this new Harkers product, 4in1 spot on, supposed to cure canker, cocci, worms and external parasites with 1 drop on the back of the neck , mmm. Was launched at Blackpool.

What was good- the whole town was buzzing with pigeon fanciers, families, and pigeon related stuff, must do wonders for the local economy. If you couldn't find birds to buy then you weren't looking, hundreds, maybe thousands in the many auctions all weekend and plenty in the show itself. It depends on what you want to spend I know but fanciers with several national wins to their name selling birds @£70-£120 which were closely related to their top birds not several generations away.
The weather was decent this year. Plenty atmosphere in the pubs from mid-day till closing if you like that sort of thing. We had some cracking meals out at reasonable prices and made the weekend a bit more than just pigeons.
Good to meet some old pals from years ago, and good to see the show packed out (Sat but quieter on Sunday) when the doom and gloom brigade whinge about the sport dying out. Thought the aluminium aviaries and traps on show looked the part if you could afford them, same with the nest boxes and perches etc.

Didn't like the amount of stalls selling medicines, supplements and "must have" potions, don't think it's helping pigeons develop natural immunity but there must be a market? Also the show venue lost some floor space and a few areas finished in dead ends and quieter parts where stall holders weren't getting a fair deal with passing trade, especially after what they paid to be there. Wasn't keen on a lot of the corn on display, didn't look heavy enough for chickens to me.

Loved our B and B, had an extra night on Sunday so made the best of the weekend, quite a lot of people did the same.

Didn't buy anything but certainly got the pigeon bug again!

I went on the sunday the show was the busiest it had been on a sunday for the best part of 5 years atmosphere was brilliant

But the one thing I find hard to get my head around that weekend brings plenty of people to the area and plenty for the economy

But when I came out the show there were loads of traffic wardens putting tickets on all the vans it was as if they were only working that area poor traders, that was the same with John Tranter of Tranter Lofts he was given a ticket John challenged the ticket and went to court I think he won his case also but John does not show at Blackpool now

I wonder what would happen if you moved the show from Blackpool to NEC Birmingham ????? everyone can get there by train there's plenty hotels plus you could have all the sales in close proximity of each other JMO

I think that would be a great venue don ...be better for fanciers nationwide to get to a more central venue

I loved the show .always have and always will...I hate doom and gloom people saying it's crap ect ect ...I love the buzz that goes with everything pigeon related ...in our town which is a hotbed for pigeons I bet only about 4 went and 2 of them were me and my brother.how sad it that ...anyway it was very busy and I seen a lot of young fanciers about which a good sign...I am thinking of running a bus from here next season even if I only get 8 to 10 I will still do it ..so far I have 7.....
