| Been finding seed puked up over the perches, only a couple, 2 definite ,3 maybe, so far, as soon as we've found it,which was yesterday the whole yb section has been on yb sickness meds in the water, we were hoping to put them onto darkness tonight, so I want to know are we ok to carry on putting up the shutters , or do we wait until they get over this bout of sickness, thanks all. |

| Never used the dark system before but doubt if it would affect the birds health one way or another as you have not yet started it. Wish you the best. |

| I would wait 1 week wont make much difference to the darkness system ,I would not go putting anymore stress on them now .seems strange to get ybs this early ...I would have held food back for 36 hours and gave a strong dose of fennel tea and popped charcoal tablets down their throat then feed very lightly with a light mix of depurative slowly introducing the regular mix....some of these yb no maize mixes are far too heavy for my liking jmo atb |

| Your dead right daz, can remember watching some old guy being interviewed on YouTube, American, he said never feed peas before a race, the birds won't digest them and will still be in the crop when flying, therefore be heavy flying, |

| Got to starve them first to get the corn/seed out of their crops then feed lightly when treating ...I only feed mine once a day when on dark because they hold the corn if fed too late then the trouble begins ..good luck hope you sort it |

| I agree with Darren, always feed well before darkening to give them plenty of time to digest it, also don't feed too heavy......I like Gerry plus because of this reason.
how are the birds now lofty, and how are you treating them...? |

| There only seems to be 2/3 at most David, we use gem yb mix no maize, but on dazzys advice I've cut it with depurative so it's a bit lighter for them, no seed on the perches this morning so we could be over the worse, but they can rest up for the week now, it's raining for a couple of days anyway so maybe it's worked in our favour |

I reckon it lingers in the stock some sort of fungal issue when ybs puke corn its not allways adeno/coli syndrome which is deemed as yb sickness |

| They all seem to be fine now, went down the loft at Luke's at midday and they were looking to get out, so I took out the 3 I thought had been ill and turned out the others, straight to the heavens, had a good 45 minutes and were trapped and in had a good feed now they'll be ready for the shutters up at 5 when Luke is home from work, I'll keep an eye on the 3 just to see how they are over the next couple of days, but at the minute everything seems good, will keep you up to date. |
