Forum Syndicate 2018 ?

Which ever way the group goes with tumley loft birds in rpra one loft or with another member in a one loft race or both im in , Gentlemen think about it one loft racing is really like a lottary 2000 plus birds all going to same loft its just which bird touches the trap first u could either be first or last within seconds really just my thought but ill be happy to go with the flow

One loft racing for the forum - In principle count me in for 2018.

But I think we should also look further afield than Cheltenham.

cant remember who was in it this year, I think there were around 10 of us........would be nice to get a few more involved and some thoughts on possible other one lofts we could enter, although I do think the rpra was spot on and run very well.

I don't think anyone is knocking the RPRA one loft race. But what do we (We as a forum or group of people) know about any of the other 1 loft races.

For example - I know of the people that run the French Young Bird Derby - they are both English and by all accounts do a very good job. Also the prices are a lot fairer. You pay a small amount to get 'perch space' then one can decide if you want to carry on and race your birds right through to the end races. Then and only then, do you have to pay a bit more per bird.

Other venues are well worth looking into in my opinion.

Just received the cheque for £50.00 and the certificate for young bird in the one loft race could all members who took part please email me their address or pm it to me so I can photo copy the certificate and send it to you as for the cheque do members want the £5.00 back or leave it in the kitty for the next venture thanks email markaevans66@gmail.com

thanks for the info mark, they didn't mess about paying us out did they, very well run and organised eh....although I would have thought they would have waited until after the auction to pay us out, as our bird who came 81st will be going up for auction, and we will receive 50% of the money it makes.

lets hear what the syndicate have to say re the £50, go on to the next one or claim their £5........

ok will do john, thanks for your input.....I cant remember which of the members was in the last one, I know we had 10 but only remember a few of them.

I think we might be best to start a list for the next one now really, then it will give us more time to sort things out and decide on which one lofts we want to enter.

the one loft racing is just a lottery , david think if we go with rpra you will not have the added expense sending them abroad .but that is just me . see what the other members think, tumley lofts was good enough to give 2 of there young birds free, and am sure they were good birds , they must have been when one of them got as far as the last race, but as I said david we will go with the flow.

yes I agree there john, got to think of the total expense , I know some activate extra birds which all needs considering.

For next years syndicate I don't mind being the liaisons person again if the members are OK with that or if anyone else would like the job feel free but its not a problem for me just like to thank dave for doing a first class job for putting the info up on the site on how the birds were doing

On a personal note, I would like to thank mark for liaising with the one loft race organisers, and David for the reports that he posted on such a regular basis, to oldstrain (dazzy) for the dirty work he had to put in to get our sponsor birds, and to Jamie at tumley lofts for the generous donation of the birds, which, let's be honest here, did us proud against some of the countries top one loft racers, thank you all.

Onto next year, I'm all for doing it again, but we have to remember we are a small forum with only a few regular contributors, this year we struggled to get the 10 we did get, and that was for just the rpra one loft race, so looking to go to more than one race loft I think will be a struggle, but let's just see how things go in the next couple of weeks.

Mark, great idea sending us out copies of the certificates, thank you, if it's ok with the rest of the guys who were in the syndicate , I suggest you take the postage out of the £50 for sending us the copies and the rest just hold onto until the bird is auctioned and see what we have then.
