Plastic time.

Spent most of the day putting clear plastic on open areas of the loft. Cuts the wind down. Keeps most of the snow out.
House also. For the wind and droughts. Double glazing etc, pretty useless. So clear plastic stapled over the windows. Plastic billows out a little. Also cut off the top of the stairs with plastic. 4 bedrooms upstairs. Never used. Use one on the first floor, other spare. Big kitchen, very big living room. Big old farmhouse. Heat with hydro (electricity) and propane gas. Both expensive as hell. No fireplace. Was sealed off years ago. No fireplace, no matter. In the UK used sea coal scraped from the beach. Heck, just about everyone in Hartlepool did. Actually blew the breaker on the electricity panel tonight. 2 electric heaters kicked in together. They come on a 66F. Have the Propane furnace running now. Gets too cold will have a 3 dog night! Supplemental heat. They lay on the top covers but not that cold yet. The dogs are just hoping!! Wow! Have posted a lot! Blimey you have a lot to contend with westherwise where you are Hal, it’s like a constant duel with Mother Nature, with the weather and the wildlife.
