Agree entirely Knackered, many hours and much money spent TRAINING pigeons from short distances, think it is fanciers who need training.

If a pigeon is healthy and fit it will return from the maximum distance it is capable of irrespective of any TRAINING.

Wild birds fly thousands of miles whilst migrating etc; never seen any practice.

Motivation by contentment with the pigeons environment does not go amiss in the long run.

Pigeons during the war dispelled many long held theories but fanciers take no note.

Never could quite figure out here how many birds travel thousands of miles to find home etc Misty       without having some magic/elixer type tonic as such to do it.
