I talk to a guy from Leeds about woodstoves every few days. I like his plan for when it snows......he lights a fire and stays home when it snows! He is always out doors doing something too. I can see the wisdom in that plan. Why get run over? I hope you had a great Christmas. I've been wanting to go fishing for giant carp in your neck of the woods for years.

yes hes got the right idea, don't go out unless you got to in the snow.......driving is to be avoided if possible as our council always seem to be short of money when its time for gritting.

strangely enough I never seem to see many 4 x 4 vehicles when it snows, I presumed they would be out as normal, maybe they arnt as good in the snow as they would have us believe .

yes, we had a good Christmas, just as I like it with the daughter and mrs, low key is the preferred way here.

Had a great Christmas David. The wife bought me a kitchenaid mixer. Going to make some bread in a little bit. Three family members bought me a total of 30 lbs of bacon. I should be all set up for high cholesterol this coming year!

Winter gets old by the end of February. I had to quit drinking years ago, and by March I'm getting awfully thirsty.

Great to see Rom     you had a great xmas etc. Like you I suspect, I was over the moon when giving presents by santa. First for me       was a jar of marmarlade (toast) & the next was a real killer          being a jar of pickles etc which I never eat      .

I love homemade marmalade! I'll admit though, I love pickles but not sweet pickles.

What about fresh meat ? I watch a programe on the History channel MOUNTAIN MEN, I think its great but tough.
I love the outdoors and all that goes with it and always with a dog and camera.

Strange thing Rom & I know Santa has a heavy work load etc & can make mistakes at times But my other half here would you believe, just loves pickles .

yes ive seen that f/walker, its a good program, they travel off miles looking for meat etc, gone for days out in the wild with bears and alsorts roaming around,

out on their own on a ski/sledge, if anything happens they are in trouble, no one to help........
