Oldest bird in your loft

Just wondered what was the oldest bird members have in their lofts at the moment I have a chequer cock bred in 2000 and a slaty cock bred in 1998

that's old mark, 18 and 20 years old................oldest I have is 2005 which is now 13 year old.

touch wood he is going strong, bred 2 ybs off him in 2017

Yes dave got a couple of 03s and plenty of 05s its like a retirement home here when they come they are here for good till death us do part as they say

yes same here more or less mark, I have a few 06 and 07 birds too, but they will all be here until the end.....

14 year old my best ever hen ..sadly she is looking old now and we only get the odd yb off her now but again unfortunately they are nowhere near as good as her other son's and daughters. .we are not sure what to do with her , we were just discussing the other day..we.ll see

I'll try to take some pictures of him and see if dave will post them for you to look at he is looking his age now wobbly on his legs but still getting about

For me Mark, 15 years is quite normal for my cocks here now. Hens, rare to have one in the loft after 7/8 years etc only have so many good eggs that they can produce on average I've found. The youth factor should always be placed before old age in a good stock loft or for most it will be a down, down down thing in the end I would suggest.

That's correct knackered you can't beat youth for the stock loft these birds are old racers that fly out just seams a shame to kill them when they have made it this far suppose this is the reason I will never make a pigeon fancier just a pigeon keeper

Too soft 30 odd blocks a day lofts have been in the building process ever since I first come on this site here . Dammed if I know David how your other half there put's up with you .
