Don. Boxing.

Have some cousins who boxed. The Harpers. London. Jack, the old man, sons Brian and his brother. Watched my old man get in to it outside a bar in Hartlepool. Scouse (my father } was a middleweight champion in the Army. But Jack was too big. For a pair of boxers they were dirty fighters! Head butts, knees. Scouse had him down once. All the kids were cheering. And the other watchers from the bar. Our Sunday afternoon entertainment. But to no avail.  Finally they all went back in for another pint. Typical.

These days you go outside a bar and you’d have 7 or 8 blokes kicking you unconscious or stabbing you. Brave new generation.
