The first young one I banded. its parents have now hatched two more. The white hen is sitting two eggs on the floor in the straw. Was hard to see today as snow was around her. Just fine snow. This will be interesting. The birds that go down and nest in thee conditions produce better young birds? They are smarter? Time will tell.

The white hen. Eggs should be hatching soon. She was a stray. Spiegel band on her, Georgia company. Apparently sent (the bands ) to Michigan. Could not find the flier. Got a name and emailed him but no response. By all accounts, the white is quite possibly one of the Happyco whites. California. Bloodlines anyway. Mated to a red cock.
The Ganus banded pigeon here is a blue pied cock. Venus bloodlines. Bred me two pied cocks last year. One won the first young bird race. His eggs will be hatching soon. 2nd round. Have to band two second rounders next day or so.
