Clocks Altering....

clocks altering this weekend, off to buy some ply to darken yb section........might wait until mid week to start darkening, they are just doing nicely at the moment, don't really want to unsettle them just yet........would like them flying before darkening ideally

Another week wont make any difference

that's what I`m hoping, when ive had them on dark before they start to fly, ive had problems getting them to exercise......they seem to get lazy, so if I can get them going first before darkening it might help.

if you want them to fly scatter them a few times,they will soon batch...
i don't bother mine much yet with adding more to the team.
its early,i don't want them running yet but each to there own

That's the trouble I have , going over at different times. .nightmare to be honest but like you say no hurry as plenty of time

that's why my team is going to be limited to 21 birds, all round the same age, so no adding younger birds as I find it throws everything out.....and your back to square one again virtually.

Weaned a couple more today. Wind too strong to let them out. Cold also. Never had much of a problem with different ages. Next time out probably tomorrow, will be the third time. Dozen or so born in late December. The younger ones tend to stick close to the loft. The older ones flying see them and relate to them. Increases their confidence. They know were home is. Usually they are very strong on the wing.

I think its more a problem when there are other lofts close by and or if your on a line of flight

i let my ybs out yesterday, been out about 5 mins and I heard a big "woosh" , and it was our club secs old birds being let out.....I could throw a stone and hit his loft (or him) , as he is that close, luckily they didn't bother my ybs.

That was a lucky one dave if they had struck I'd have a word with him and arrange times so both can have um out on your own

his only fly for 5 mins mark, then sit on house roof for 4 hours........

Hope they do that when racing!
