| ybs been weaned maybe around 10 days now, been out 4 times......(due to weather), been feeding breed and wean around 1 and 1/4 oz per bird, but always making sure they have had enough, sometimes adding more food......
question is, how much longer do I feed breed and wean...? |

| david if they are flying well on it I would carry on giving it for now until training starts especially if you plan to darken then lighten it up ...I always feed the ybs well and a full bodied mix until training starts but that's me I am sure you will get varying answers |

| As long as you want..i dont change untill nearer the racing..there still growing and if you go on darkness most keep them on a high protein mix with titbits of linseed you cant build muscle without protein. Il start putting a light feed mornings once iv got them all together for a couple of weeks abit like a winter mix but with added pellets. But everyones different |

| Mine are on regular mix. Cheap. Add Safflower when need to up the protien. One could use other protien boosters. Peas, beans, peanuts etc,. There is no such thing in my opinion, as to a standard mix for different phases of the moult, winter, short disance racing or long. Basic mix add or subtract. Advertising is a powerful tool So and so champion uses this mix etc,. Paid good money for the endorsment. But heck! How many swear by the brand mixes they buy? Probably 80% of fanciers. All the big pigeon feed makers just love the endorsements. Heck they are in the game to make money. More power to them. |

| This season mine will be weaned on the same mix as they have been reared on but as soon as they get on top of the loft they will be on young bird pop corn mix as I don't won't them having corn in them the next morning as some do brings on YB sickness |
