Just an observation. All flying good around the loft. Old and young. Very windy last few days. Watched the young birds head South to the lake. Edge of property, about a mile. Lost site of them as they went straight South over lake Erie then came back from the West. Good East wind. Flew on past. 45 mins later came back from the East. Kept going, most of them. Later bred ones came down. One with a bum leg. Hit something. Par for the course. Built a loading ramp. Means a flap 4 foot high with a structure outside to hold a large box. Load from the inside. Missed the last old bird race. Had to move my daughter to a new place.Floor level! After going up and down 4 flights of stairs many times it struck me! Umm..over 20..
Stock birds ( most previous racers) out again today. They are all determined to get in the old lofts. All are on eggs. Tomorrow or the next day dump eggs. Fly this weekend. Then open old lofts to stock birds when timing is right. Weekend after are two long races. With stock trying to reclaim their boxes etc,..racers may home faster? Working on the idea. Just depends when I implement it. Oh yes. Lights on for young birds today.
