| Hope you have a good one, oldstrain, I just hope the hot weather does not adversely affect them in the transporter, hot weather is often not in the best interests of the pigeons.
But if you wait for ideal conditions, you will have a long wait.
Regards. |

| yes spot on misty not happy with the temperatures we use wicker baskets and have a central corridor also birdage has been hammered in the Scottish races so don't expect a great turnout be lucky to get 500 birds on board for 75/80 members ...would not like to see us get loaded onto the top of the transporter its probably not the best place nearest the roof will have a good look at it so will be on basket duty as well as clocksetting tonight atb |

| Sent 9 cocks to 205. Only their 2nd race. 13 to 250 miles. Again all cocks. Will fly widowhood next year. So have to send them, weather not the best. Birds coming from the East. 40 kmph S.W. wind. Forecast for high humidity and 35 plus C degrees. Crunch time for what stays. Hens to 320 miles next week all going well. |

| Open loft system will only work if you have an open loft all weathers, that is the whole point.
Not to mention disregarding all the treatments the widowhood and darkness systems appear to need to keep the pigeons alive.
Good food EVERY day just as a car would not work on low grade fuel on an on off basis, which would ruin the engine, very similar to todays pigeons being useless after the yearling stage in many cases.
The more the experts and scientists become involved along with the commercial boys the more the actual pigeon suffers.
Regards.

| Well done oldstrain, you cannot beat 100% returns and they should be ideal for next year.

| No comparison between shaking hands and all the excitement, dropping rubber amongst the deep litter etc; and being out shopping or down the pub whilst the pigeons, often from a treble figure entry, time themselves in.
It takes all sorts but some present day fanciers do not nor ever will understand what the sport should be all about.
Is there any wonder very few are interested.
Regards.

| Yes. Eclocks can be manipulated. Were this is a will there is a way. Last weekend. Top bird in Fed was 1000 meters plus. Thinking I should have clocked. No matter. Quit old ones for the last two races on the schedule. August 4 young birds start. |
