right, yes your right Darren, I remember now........so 20 members @ £20 = £400 + 50% of what our mnfc bird makes at auction.

so we might possibly have 40 - 50 , maybe 60 quid to come from the mnfc, all depends how well the auction does, and we need £500 to enter 4 birds into the rpra, plus maybe carriage to get there.

any thoughts anyone ...

we only need 6 more to get £400, plus any more join up will see us with the full amount.

Hi David if it stays at 14 members £35 each will give you £490 + the 50% from sale which puts us over the £500 mark

David,

I am not familiar with the costs involved in the one loft races but I was taking it that that the amount quoted as £20 was per bird and not a one off ie. 4 birds £80 .

Regards.

no misty, its not £20 per bird, its £20 each total, so we hope to get maybe 20 members joining which will give us more or less the funds we need.............if we can get more than 20 members all the better.

if youll be good enough to do it again mark, I`m sure the rest of the members would be happy for you to do it.......you know how it works re entry forms and payments etc, plus you've had contact with them in the past, so you know what its all about.

I`m happy for you to do it again mark, and I`m sure the others are too.

just been looking through last years lists etc, and if I`m not mistaken I think each member paid £25 each, not £20..... Embarassed

whats members thoughts, £20 or £25 ...? or shall we see how many members we get yet ...?

last year the members below entered too, so hopefully they will join again once they come on site and read the topic.

Thank you for the explanation, David, I thought the entrance fees would be far higher.

At the present rate I would have thought everyone on the site would want to have a go.

When the olr was first mooted I was strongly against it because it was impossible for all members to be involved and a first come basis was not a fair method.

However, I had not taken into account the syndicate possibility, when if every fancier wanted to participate they could, a syndicate could be anything to anything.

Regards.

I think my initial calculations were wrong misty, mark reminded me of last years entry fees, it appears each member paid £25 each, not £20 each.......but im sure you and others wont quibble over £5, its still cheap for a bit of interest and the possibility of winning something.

I think if we can get enough to enter 3 or 4 birds it will be a bonus, but my suggestion would be Darren certainly breeds 2 for us, like he did for the mnfc, they both made it to the final and did us proud taking 30th.

if we can afford one or two more birds, then we would need to sort out which members would be interested in breeding them.

Think £25 a real bargain for all the pleasure involved and not having to put old bones to work.

I think to have two in the last race a very good result and after all it is the expectation that makes the blood flow and not money, nor the actual result.

Regards.
