| Expanding the sport. How about a fancier who has the room, allotment or whatever, taking in young from other lofts. Then racing them in the club or Fed. People who sent the birds would be notified of the results of their birds. Thinking more of young folk here but could work for anyone with too many young. Seems to be a lot of possibilities. Snags also probably. Sell the birds back to the original donors who want them? Or..? |

| its a nice idea hal, one that's been done here before, but it went sour when ybs started going down..........its a lot to take on really , and for someone doing it would involve a lot of work and dedication. |

| I was up for a 30 yb test loft here a few years ago but some old members were picking holes in the rules so threw it in ,our current crop of members seem more easy going so if the interest is there |

| I think the best idea is to encourage fanciers to engage with the youth of today by taking them on as silent partners, allowing them to engaged in all aspects of the sport without any financial contribution.
Oldstrain, has involved his son from an early age and he will have a sound impression of what is involved, no doubt being allowed to handle the pigeons and being involved in all aspects of the sport, and there will be others who do the same, but too few,
This was the practice when I was young, fanciers would encourage youngsters to sit and watch the pigeons going about their business and explain what was going on etc;/
Today many fanciers will not allow anyone near their lofts, the widowers must rest you know etc;
There must be a change in attitude throughout the sport in every respect if it is to survive in any meaningful manner.
Regards.

| oldstrain, why put yourself under any strain if fanciers do not appreciate the attempts you make to make matters more interesting?.
It only takes one or two to ruin matters for all and if our area is anything to go by any suggestion that did not give them an advantage would be a no goer.
Regards.
