Been another bone cruncher type day here Ray again. Been 3 on the trot unfortunately. Looked up the centre record/results here for the last 3 races at 350 miles & was quite shocked as such as only 2 flyers have been able to clock on the day in all 3 . One is an absolute cracker of a flyer at the highest level here. The other one Old fella type, well past his prime unfortunately & he spends far to much time on the internet talking absolute waffle/rubbish & he should be actually put down to put him out of his misery as such  .

Not seen any 'Blue' here about. Drab and mournful. But gives wife an excuse to get me doing some home improvements. 4 bedrooms wall papered and carpeted and new curtains. Bath room and showers tiled floors etc. etc. etc. Done my office here!
Thought I'd be clever and explain I couldn't pay as I have so very little money! ' No problem' says she 'I'll buy and pay, you work and display' eh! lol Just got to squeeze that little extra out of her purse and pay some one for doing it Lol

Yes I think so , but it's bloody cold for them so it's going to be hard

3 degrees at 7am this morning!

Approx 11,00 birds will be liberated from Maidstone at 9.00am in a light north west wind

Should be some race, the weather is cooler and hopefully no wind as such and no raptor problems.

If races are turning out unreasonable in fairish weather then their is something drastically wrong along the line.

The hot weather was a possibility early on but not now.

Well done for 2nd place but at what cost in losses overall.

Losses get worse year on year but there has been no attempt to find what is going wrong.

Of course raptors are a problem but cannot possibly account for all the losses.


Fanciers in most cases are able to take the rough with the smooth but take a new fancier who loses all his/her pigeons the first year ??????.


Fanciers have to wake up and attempt to find solutions bad races used to be the odd one now the good races are the odd ones.

Basically yesterday facing a head wind and stuck in baskets for 3 nights didn't help . We have a big team but strangely enough we have lost as many as previous years . We treated our this year due to upper respiratory problems which greatly helped . Again we done our homework into why big losses previous years and acted upon it .a lot including us I admit previously didn't look into why but this year like I said we did . The result of this is we have ended up with the biggest team of ybs ever, approximately 80 lol so that causes a bit of a problem, but at least we can pi k a good team for next season

80 odd. Just knew one day Ray I would see a Geordie chook farmer type come on the scene as such . Now, what's this issue with a head wind there etc as we had a special race here over the weekend, with  800 odd birds into a header all the way for them. One pigeon on the day we had from 400/460 miles Winner was happy, happy thou I suspect     as $100,000 odd was his payout as such .

It wasn't just the cold head wind flying 260 miles , it was stuck in the basket for 3 days as well..got 6 back this morning as well ..thats them finished noe for the season. A team one more race next week and thats it done for another year

Funny thing, when pigeons are in the basket for any length of time during a race, one fancier many years ago only ever won when there was a long hold over, the only time they were fed good food etc;

Any pigeon in the best possible condition when put in the basket can only deteriorate fast in condition, and that is why you get false results.

The bird was better than the majority raced! All one needs!

Funny thing racing pigeons.

Send exactly the same pigeons to the same race point several times and you will never get them all back in the same order.
