Rules are changing here. For better or worse do not know. People on dis ability will get a few bucks more. Many on welfare will be allowed to earn more before being cut off. Good or bad not sure.
My first hospital visit was when I was 14. Had fell off a church roof at night catching pigeons. Split lip, needed stitches.
Took out the rest.

2nd time in West Hartlepool was a Sunday afternoon.  1963 I believe. Was 23 then. Back from the ships and some time with Mad Mike Hoare. Congo. Anyway, Camerons Strongarm was flowing good. At the local pub. Father took me their. I had the cash. Everyone all popped up. Local Celebrity there. Jack London. Plus 2 sons. Mothers cousin, Londons/Harpers.  Near closing time. Argument started. Jack London was cheating at dominoes. Outside for many. Jackets off. My old man (was an Army Middlewieght champ) took on Jack. Good fight but size had the advantage.  But Jack used a broken beer glass in my fathers face. So scouse (my father) had to quit. I was upset and said so and confronted his sons. Brian walked away and young one stayed to argue. Gave him two head butts and he was down. Booted him a few times. Nuts. Cops came. Took the old man to the hospital. Few stiches was all. Plus hurt pride!! Times change.

Same here Hal rules are changing etc. Politicians have at last twigged as such that those with a disability  type issue are still human as such & vote along with their immediate type family also. Just having the world cup of golf here on a local type course. Playing on the same schedule are the best of the disability type golfers on the world stage now. Never would have happened I suggest 10 years ago type of thing.

Never believed in thuggery, always been able to explain, from school days, the result of brutality as opposed to reaching an amicable conclusion based on circumstances.

I would discount anything to do with the over use of alcohol as no one can deal with a muddled brain, and I never indulged.

Dealing with bullies and I have met them and been confronted with them in our sport, I always offered to arrange a fight in a ring with someone their age and weight etc

Never had one take it up.

Times have changed but I cannot think that over all for the better.

I have the deepest sympathy for anyone handicapped in any way and they should be afforded the help to enable them to live a decent life.

However, many that claim insufficient funds to do so expect to have all the same things that those who work their socks off and in reality if they stopped spending on unnecessary things could manage quite well.

The overall problem is such that there is no way a solution can be found that is fair all round and affordable.
