The first six birds to arrive in the rpra one loft brought in by the VR46 syndicate.
We currently have 17 birds in the lofts you can follow as they arrive when being assigned with benzing ets tags from the link above.
The 13 birds are currently enjoying a bath and have soon settled in more will join these tomorrow with birds being delivered with couriers..

Friday March the 1st
March 1st, 2019
Good Afternoon
This week has flown by us !
We have been very busy getting all the sections ready with disinfecting all the sections out and then once dried putting the loft powder down and the bedding in and just basically being ready for the birds to arrive.
We currently have 257 birds in the lofts at present and the first section will be out at some point next week on a calm day..
We are pretty happy with them at this stage.
If you have not sent your birds in yet please send them in 35 to 45 days old some have arrived a little to young so had to put them in a different section to bring them on for a week , please also note its very important to vaccinate for PMV at least 10 days before arriving with us so the antibodies are built up in them for PMV this will help me and you in the long run.
More birds arriving over the weekend and over the next month which will keep us more than busy..
Will update next Tuesday with the latest.
Jeremy..

it wouldn't surprise me Darren, glad to hear ours are coming on nicely........
was speaking to a club member last sunday at the agm, he flies in a local mid week club and was telling me the club applied to join the rpra one loft this year, but were too late and had their cheque returned.
so they entered the mnfc/potteries one loft, good luck to them, if its anything like last years shambles they will need it.....

Good Evening
We managed to get the first section out today for a hour then called most back in with a few taking a flip around it took a while longer to get these back in but once they been out a few times they will soon know what its all about then next section will join these on Sunday and go out with them next Monday weather permitting.
Overall the health is pretty good at present which is the most important thing at this stage the rest will follow on.
Tomorrow and Thursday will see more birds arrive.
A photo below of some of the birds coming out for the first time.

that has to be the worst thing to contend with is the health of the ybs coming from so many different sources ,its imperative to send ybs with a good constitution and in tip top shape to give them the best start at the one loft

Must be a pain have so many different ages from different lofts arriving all the time. Wonder whats in the water ? Acidic or Probiotics, you would think they would need summit

I don't like adding ybs of different ages anyway f/w, if theres more than about 10 days between them I would stop adding them.....plus as you say, ybs from different lofts would present a problem maybe, so I would imagine something would be used in the water to combat contamination.....although I must say, our 2017 entry which I bought back was, and is a very healthy bird. (touch wood)

Just consider all the possible problems from keeping so many pigeons in the same loft, from health problems to, feeding, training, etc; no one can keep an eye on individuals, which is necessary if the best is to be got out of a pigeon, they must use preventative medication or very few would survive.
I did suggest using the loft for one year, no pigeon being treated for anything other than the compulsory vaccine and see how many are left at the end.
This would indicate the actual health and ability of present day pigeons.
Those in charge do as good a job as the facilities allow them to but the facts clearly indicate, although a good opportunity to be involved and enjoy the experience it is a lottery.
Just hope ours have the right numbers on their backs.
Regards.

He's with a pal David, try him with a couple of young hens, hopefully get something raced. He's a looker so fingers crossed. He,'s from several generations of good winners including 2 X combine winners and several fed winners but who knows? Out from 7:00am till 6pm David, couldn't do pigeons justice right now but section of the garden is marked out

throw in free board etc FW & I'm happy to be your apprentice as such . May just spent my first pay packet thou on a decent size bath there being by my standards a wee bit on the small size for the flock using it I suggest.

Acidic/Probiotics cost factor would kill it for me FW etc I'm . My budget with so many birds from where ever type of thing would be the old bleach scenario to combat the nasties. End of the day thou I just hope things turn out better for us here with our little team of champs, than that recent event I've seen discussed on other sites where there now down to 300 odd birds from around 4000 I believe that they started with .

Depends, maybe by who I'm being judged against David etc I suspect. A wee minnow like our beloved Ray here or the local chook farmer brigade down here on the local scene as such . End of the thou my pigeon bath is human size as such & I found it on a local nature strip here & the old Steptoe nature in me said waste not want not I'm fortunately, in a pigeon type sense .
