| nice birds darren, I was at Formula 1 auction a few years back, nearly all blues with the odd pencil or BWF, and the vendor stated the smokey blues often made good racers. |

| Not an eye sign man personally. But the adage of mating corn to earth, looks about right there as far as I can see. ( the 66 bird) But a great looking couple. I hope that they are relatd via blood personally. Good luck to you mate. |

| Old saying oldstrain, the Devil you know etc;
Could not have asked more of the pigeons in the last two years.
Like to look at past and present outstanding pigeons by performance.
There is absolutely no means of determining the potential of a champion from looks, handling or even breeding, many of a strain have all the theories but are beaten by others without.
They come in all shapes and sizes many dispel all the theories.
The devil you know springs to mind.
Regards. |

Good luck to you mate. yes they are related quite far back though further than the pedigree shows or explains, same family of birds I could breed closer if I wanted much closer have had time to study the pedigrees more and understand which birds/lines were crossed whith eachother ...its difficult as on some peds theirs a birds name and on others just a ring number but they are the same bird,i am almost there with sorting next years pairings ,going to try a few crosses to with the racers atb |

| Looked up the origin of the Whites.
Apparently from a Red Hen and a Cheq cock which bred an almost white.
Also read regarding genes and their implications, result, experts say we know very little about them.
When about 13 or 14 the strangest colour from any pair I ever encountered was a Sky Blue cock (called Ten Aside, all primaries being white,) bred from a dark cheq Ameel cock and a jet black hen, the cock was mine and the hen a friends.
The Cocks main flights all had grizzle in them.
The Sky Blue cock was SKY BLUE, never seen one since, he also had a soapy beak, was featured in the Fancy press at the time.
No one would pool when he was in a race, he was flown by a friend whose black hen bred him, won out of turn.
The nest mate called Dozey was a cheq pied.
As with most things in nature ???????.
Regards.

| Seems there are whites in most strains/families now. Not that colour matters in a racer. Maybe they, as all pigeons, have an instinctive fear of raptors more so then regular coloured birds? So tend to be more wily? I have enough raptors around here but they have yet to focus on the whites. But again, small portion are white. Would love to let them out but have to stick with my plan on breeding. |

| I think, and past bears this out I believe... Look at the ancestry and one is often amazed from what the good birds have been bred, and bred down from.
Another, maybe not so noticeable, is if the more and best and nigh proven good breeder is mated to the same of the other sex... Cull are bred... and nigh end of line. Split and mate elsewhere and you have improved the chances galore.. |

| Yes. Started breeding early beginning of year. However, lost some young in the nest. Too cold. Not the only reason. Another factor was some of the older parents seemed to lack enough crop milk. Older parents at 6 or 7. Will switch eggs this year or breed later. Two 2010 born hens raised young later in the year. |
