| hi guys our birds were libbed at 10.15am this morning at falaise france,in a strong NW wind 341 miles to me.can anyone tell me how long it will take them to get home,if i get any home that is.lol. |

i let you know how i get on. i hate over water racers i lost meny a bird at falaise i sh.tting myself here lol.if didnt send over water the most i would race is 200 miles. |

| yeah david im worried about them flying over water specaily today with this wind it wont be easy.i think i will stick to inland as from now nice short sprint racers. |

| hi mark, i would work it out about 40mph today mate if not a little bit less , you say a strong nw wind the birds will have to work realy hard today i would start looking out round about 7.1/2 hrs . i think the winners will be more like 9 hrs today but you never know good luck . |

| just been on another site and there is a lot of libs from france today they say the fog is on the west side of the channel but no early libs there all going round about 10.am so a long wait i think . |

| i think its wrong all this time in basket thursday race day saturday, they should be released on day closer home, some convoyers are scared of stick if they release in poor weather, |

| thats what you get when you race the channel the longer the birds are rested the better they home don,t forget the pigeons have been tossed about a bit on transit to the race point then the ferry crossing , i would rather my birds are libbed in good conditions then in not so good conditions . when you race the longer races with the classic and nationals they can be in the basket up to 7 days . |

| my birds are well basket trained they eat and drink from them ok. its now 8.30pm and still no birds home if i had known the weather was going to be as bad as this i wouldnt have sent but there you go we all get it wrong from time to time,i just feeling bad i sent birds to get home from all that way in this crap weather. |

| hi david , yes it is hard on them but they get used to it when ive been helping out at the marking station for the national the older birds are laying down resting a few years ago the nfc had a race from saintes and brought them back to messac they were in the basket for 9 days , i sent 4 and got 4 none the worse for there ordeal , but you can,t beat the feeling of clocking a national bird in win or lose . |

hi mate , still time yet , been on a other site and there clocking in barnsley just after 6 pm from a 10,am lib and the west yorkshire fed libed at 10.15 i think and there clocking in between 6and 7 pm so a good steady race but there are still plenty missing . |

| have you heard if anyone in your club has one yet mark.......? know what you mean kev re clocking fron a national but id be upset at them having to go through all that..........maybe not cut out for racing pigeons eh...... too soft with them |

| don,t let it put you off just cos you haven,t got any this time if there good enough they will be there , i know how you feel ive been there many a time and will be again but it does not stop me from trying a gain just work harder with them . just poping out to check on my birds ive still 4 missing from a 74 mile race so it,s not just you peed off it,s me as well back on later to night , cheers boys |
