| If falcons take wood pigeons I cannot understand why they take our pigeons.
We have nearly as many wood pigeons as sparrows in our garden, some nesting within arms length of the house, you cannot go more than a few yards down the road without seeing one choose where you are.
As for speed, they are too fat to go more than 10 miles an hour, and that's with an helping wind.
Regards.

| I never knew - till recently, that wood pigeons, like starlings etc. emigrate. Over to the continent.
Of course swapping mates being one essential, I guess! |

| Think you are probably right Daz, think some as you say will go and find new mates to strengthen the whole flocks, think the same on occasions happens with our racing pigeons, when you get fly a ways.
Bit the ones we have I think are to well fed to want to leave.
Regards. |
