Pigeons do Strange Things Empty
PostSubject: Pigeons do Strange Things    Pigeons do Strange Things EmptyFri Jul 03, 2020 10:51 am

about 12 days ago i had one egg hatch by accident, i thought i had took them all away, but i must have missed one .......this egg hatched on the floor, thats maybe how i missed it ???

anyway i rung the yb around 7 days old, and the next day i went in and it had been attacked and badly pecked.........i found the yb underneath a hen in the corner, who was not its mother, the parents were up on the perches and had left their baby , so i had no choice but to leave it with the "foster mum" and kept my eye on it, anyway if only turned out the cock who had attacked the baby was paired to the foster mother, so i was a little concerned, but kept an eye on the situation.

days went by and the hen was looking after the baby, feeding it and always protecting it, then i noticed the cock who had initially attacked the baby was chasing other pigeons away from the nest.......then around 3 days ago i noticed he wads sat in the nest looking after the baby and even feeding it affraid affraid

so hopefully the yb will survive, and is being reared by foster parents, one of which was the attacker .........strange birds are pigeons eh cheers

You could write a new chapter here David if it survives and turns out the goods.

Wrong time of year, brought up through adoption, injured, and wins a National.

Here's hoping.

Regards.
