| Very interesting but also mystifying.
Water, Water, eveywhere but not inside the pigeons.
Sure the farmer whose land on will appreciate the watering of his field.
Would suggest looking at the emphasis we put on ALL THE PIGEONSĀ having access to water.
Dehydration worst thing out for a pigeon or humans for that matter.
No need for the closeness of the mesh could be three/four times the size and full length drinkers fitted.
But realy nice to see the sport thriving in your kneck of the woods.
You are just starting and may do well to study the mistakes we have made resulting in the present decline in our sport.
Thanks for the post, very interesting and hope the sport goes from strength to strength.
Get the water problem sorted very important.
All the best.
Regards. |

| MISTY, they hydrate all the pigeons. our team reach at liberation site 4-5 hours before liberation and give them water in interval and take it out 30 min before liberation. Yeah we are still learning and trying to improve day by day now we are moving toward more dry area of county , last 2 races will be real tough , as peak temperature on upcoming liberation site is around 35c these days . but we will liberate earlier , as soon as fog will settle down (i hope , fog stop before liberation ) - MISTY wrote:

| Would appear you may be more clued up than us, pays not to take things at face value.
After all the years we have had the sport we still cannot gaurantee that any of the pigeons leaving at the transporter at liberstion are in as good a condition as when they went in.
In fact I have always maintained that deydration is a main cause of losses.
As a matter of interest and possible comparison how many do you usualy lose whilst racing, not the odd smash but generally ?.
Tis a fact here losses get worse year on year.
Best wishes.
